~~~~~PLEASE LET ME KNOW SOON IF YOU ARE GOING TO WANT A TURKEY~~
NEW PLANS FOR NEXT YEAR
HOPE THIS WILL MAKE IT EVEN BETTER FOR EVERYONE TO GET MORE OF WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR
I AM JOINING UP WITH THE FARM THAT I GET MY TURKEYS FROM AND ALSO IS WHERE I TAKE MY SOIL FOR THE BRIX TEST
THEY HAVE ABOUT TWICE THE FARM ABLE LAND I HAVE AS WELL AS THEY HAVE BEEN IN THE BUSINESS OF FARM SUPPLIES FOR YEARS. ALSO, THERE ARE A GOOD 10 FAMILY MEMBERS WHOM LIVE AT HOME AND WORK THE FARM IN SOME FORM.
THEY HAVE BEEN WANTING TO PUT OUT MORE PRODUCE DIRECT TO THE PUBLIC FOR THE PAST COUPLE YEARS SO THIS COULD BE GOOD TIMING, FOR US ALL.
I HOPE IT DOES NOT GET TOO CRAZY FOR ME AND HELPS ME TO MOVE AHEAD.
I HAVE NEW MEMBERSHIP FORMS AS WELL AS SOME OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT NEXT YEAR HERE AT THE FARM
THIS ALSO MEANS I NEED TO AT LEAST DOUBLE THE SIZE OF MY MEMBERSHIP TO MAKE IT PROFITABLE (I hope)
I will be going to Coit Rd Farmers Market next year on Monday evenings same as this year
that will run from June till Nov. (about 4 to 7 P.M.)
Also, on Saturdays (all year round) I am sending to the market my Eggs and what ever produce I have. You have to help yourself as I can not be there. Right now there are Potatoes, Cabbage and eggs there. Kevin the Spice hound is taking care or taking down what you have taken if you are a member and cash if it is a cash item.
From about May or June till Thanksgiving the Market is also open on Wed. mornings, I have product there on those days also.
....I can take food stamps at the market...
****I WILL STILL BE FARMING HERE AND HAVING PICK UP HERE ON SUNDAY PLUS OPEN 2 TO 3 DAYS A WEEK DIFFERENT HOURS FOR PICK UP HERE***
IT WILL BE SHOP ONLY NO PRE-ORDERING
ONLY PRE-ORDERING WILL BE FOR LARGE AMOUNTS OF ONE ITEM (Such as a half bushel of tomatoes or say a bushel of cucumbers or 10 Dozens of corn)
ALSO, GROUPS SUCH AS CLEVELAND GROUP THAT COMES TO THE FARM YOU CAN SEND YOUR GROUP ORDER LIKE YOU ALWAYS HAVE AND WE WILL START ON THE PACKING SO THAT THE FAMILY THAT COMES TO DO THE PICK UP DOES NOT HAVE TO BE HERE HOURS TRYING TO DO THE WHOLE ORDER ALONE. (Which sometimes you may want to make the pick up at the Coit Market and not come all the way to the farm)
This applies to other groups for group pick up.
Memberships will be each year form May first to May first of the next year.
WILL HAVE THE POT LUCK AGAIN IN THE SPRING (End of May beginning of June)
I am putting everything together so that I can make up news letters for all also I may have a couple meetings after the first of the year to better talk about the year ahead. (one out this way and one in Cleveland way)
THIS WILL BE A GOOD WAY TO GET OUR PLAN OUT THERE AND BETTER EXPLAIN THE FARM AND CSA TO NEW MEMBERS
ALSO THIS OTHER FARM BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN IN THE SUPPLY BUSINESS HAVE GOTTEN MANY LARGE GREEN HOUSES - THEY ARE GOING TO START ME GREENS NOW - SO THERE WILL BE A LARGE SUPPLY OF GREENS AND THEY ARE WORKING ON STRAWBERRIES FOR THE GREEN HOUSE TO HAVE STRAWBERRIES ALL WINTER NEXT YEAR.
We are making a few changes on the memberships for 2010 and will have the forms ready in a couple days to send out and get on here for those whom would like to be members next year.
I am planing on having an acre of nothing but different greens planted at every two weeks. If you become members when you bring or send your membership with your down payment you can put a list with it of the produce you would like to see grown it will give me something to work with to try and have more of what everyone is looking for. Thank you and hope to see you next year.(this year is not done yet)
DO HAVE MEMBERSHIP FORMS HERE AT THE STAND NOW!
FYI
2010 membership form should be on website within couple days.
We are looking at working with another local organic, brix test farm (we have know for a few years now) for next year.To make it work for both our farms I will need to take on about 100 more members. I have to look close at this.Would be nice as with this farm we could offer more variety as well as spread the plantings through the growing season.
They have large green houses so are able to start somethings earlier then I,as well as they do potted flowers.
